Now don't we all wonder how these people manage to keep on doing what they do best and achieve so much?
Situation 1: "Ohh..perhaps they were born-to-be athletes.."
Situation 2: "Hm..tongkat Ali cafe?"
Situation 3: "They're not normal..perhaps they came from outer space!"
So which one do you think is most applicable?
Well i would say NONE! Yes..each and everyone of us are born different and possess different talents, but being
good in what you do is a different thing altogether. The question is
How did they become so good? Tongkat Ali Cafe??! Yes..it might be some sort of a stimulant..but NO..! It's not a contributing factor, otherwise all or rather most of us would by now be participating in the Beijing Olympics. INVALID answer! and What? You're saying these people are some kind of alien or something? Hm..let's see, they have a pair of eyes, a nose, a mouth, hands, legs etc. like most of us do..They are Homosapiens too..see the similarities?? *EGGK* Wrong answer.
I guess the secret to all of that can be summarize into this particular formula:
PETNo..not pet as in dog pet..but
P-atience
E-ffortT-eamworkAssuming that most of us know what these 3 phrases mean, I hereby won't go too deep into explaining one by one. If, well if, you do need a definition on that, just go to
www.dictionary.com and type in the word, then click search =D You'll find what you want.
Indeed these 3 tools play a very important role in our lives today. It is said that patience may denote calm, self-possessed, and unrepining bearing of pain, misfortune, annoyance, or delay. Therefore, without patience, these people would have given up a long time ago..just imagine the pain & exhaustion they have to go through upon preparation for this BIG event! Now Effort, well defined as exertion of
physical or
mental power. Most of us would have a pre-concept of Effort as something physical, nevertheless, if one is not prepared mentally, how would he/she be capable of facing such pressure and challenges? acknowledging the fact that Your whole country is counting upon you. Hence, to acheive greater heights, Effort is essential.
Teamwork.
Cooperative effort by the members of a group or team to acheive
a common goal.
These people, they have a common mindset, hence working towards a common goal. Their ultimate goal is not just about doing their best, but acheiving what they want by doing their best,
cooperatively. Indeed two is better than one, for when one falls, the other one is there to pick him/her up and lend a helping hand. Therefore, teamwork is what makes a team whole, for the support each team member contributes is like the branches of a tree.
and at the end of the day..there lies a main root towards these 3 essential tools, which is also summarized in another
PET formula which is
P-erseverance
E-nduranceT-rust
Life is like a race. We, human-beings, are but runners of this race. We are to run to achieve our ultimate goal at the end of the day. Our goals may vary, depending on each and every individual's belief and perception. However, in the process of running to achieve the ultimate goal, it requires these 3 things, perseverance, endurance and trust. Perseverance, in spite of difficulties, obstacles and discouragement, is what ensures us to obtain what we want at the end of the day, for we all have a purpose. Endurance, is what keeps us going, to keep on keeping on, giving us the strength to overcome whatever hardship and trials that come our way. Trust, not just referring to trusting in one's self, but(from a Christian's perspective), to put our trust in God. Without trust, there wouldn't be hope, and eventually, the word Confidence wouldn't exist.
So, i guess that's all for today. Phew..*wipes sweat*. This is by far the longest post I've done. It wouldn't have happened if not for the two-week break i'm having. (for i feel like a mushroom now, growing slowly) a.k.a rotting.(does that relate?) Gahh, nvm! =P. Perhaps it can be called an official 'blog', for now :)
