A note on Living

No one imagines that a symphony is supposed to improve in quality as it goes along, or that the whole object of playing it is to reach the finale. The point of music is discovered in every moment of playing and listening to it.

The greater part of our lives.
Often times we become so unduly absorbed in improving them, that we may forget altogether to live them.

Tomorrow, tomorrow and tomorrow...

and so Life is only but a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away. In the next hour, minute, or even in the next second, what would become of your life. Can you tell?
Time is short, the music won't last.
Dance a little slower, sing a little deeper, listen a little longer.

Embrace
the moments in life, treasure each one of it, and value every bit of it.

Someone once said: "You only live once. But if you live it right, once is enough."

~POST OF THE DAY~

Standing for what you believe in,
Regardless of the odds against you,
and the pressure that tears at your resistance,
... means Courage.

Keeping a smile on your face,
When inside you feel like dying,
For the sake of supporting others,
... means Strength.

Stopping at nothing,
And doing what's in your heart,
You know is right,
... means Determination.

Doing more than is expected,
To make another's life a little more bearable,
Without uttering a single complaint,
... means Compassion.

Helping a friend in need,
No matter the time or effort,
To the best of your ability,
... means Loyalty.

Giving more than you have,
And expecting nothing,
But nothing in return,
... means Selflessness.

Holding your head high,
And being the best you know you can be
When life seems to fall apart at your feet,
Facing each difficulty with the confidence

That time will bring you better tomorrows,
And never giving up,
... means Confidence.

p/s: found this poetry and thought it to be rather meaningful, so here i'm sharing it with you :) and So..good night and have a good weekend! (to all)

Did You Know?

*and her whole family left for Cameron Highlands this morning, while she remains Home Alone..*(okay not exactly, lol)
Anyway, I came across this site, and found some random article or rather post. Seemingly useless(as it states: Did you know?-some truly useless facts) and crappy, it somehow got me thinking and you might well be releasing some endorphins upon reading these err so-called facts? Quotes: "Laughter is the best medicine." so..Enjoy! =D

hm..Did You Know???

  • If you yelled for 8 years, 7 months and 6 days, you would have produced enough sound energy to heat one cup of coffee.
  • If you fart consistently for 6 years and 9 months, enough gas is produced to create the energy of an atomic bomb.
  • The human heart creates enough pressure when it pumps out to the body to squirt blood 30 feet.
  • Banging your head against a wall uses 150 calories an hour.
  • Humans and dolphins are the only species that have sex for pleasure.
  • On average people fear spiders more than they do death.
  • The strongest muscle in the body is the TONGUE.
  • It's impossible to sneeze with your eyes open.
  • You can't kill yourself by holding your breath.
  • Americans, on average, eat 18 acres of pizza every day.

Contradiction? or Not?

Okay, i was reading through my last two posts(the 2nd and 3rd ones) and i just realized something! Towards the end of the 2nd post, it states 'Life is not a race..do take it slower' and as for the most recent post, i mentioned something like 'Life is like a race'. Okay, seems like a contradiction? Hm..Perhaps i should clarify a little on that. Well..first of all, the 2nd post is basically a poem called 'Slow Dance' which struck my mind somehow before i decided to post it up, (no it's not my work, hence the ~Author Unknown~ down there). Anyways, coming back to it, in that poem, the phrase 'Life is not a race..do take it slower' is thought to possess a sense of 'competition' like how a runner in a marathon race compete against the other to obtain the winning prize or what we would call the 1st place. In the 3rd post however, Life is basically described as a race, which in this case, refers to the human race. It conveys the message of us humans being runners, running the human race with basic qualities a human ought to possess, which is the main PET(discussed in the earlier post)-Perseverance, Endurance and Trust, so that at the end of the day, one may be able to say: "I've done my part and achieved what I want in life! Thereby i am truly satisfied." It is more on a personal, individualistic basis, rather than being pertained to any form of possessiveness.

p/s: hope that somehow cleared your doubts =D. Good Day!

Something We All Can Learn From

and the 2008 Olympics has been ongoing for about 1 week now! *Cheers & Claps*
Two Weeks Break!! Weee! Sounds fun? Seemingly..HOWEVER, I'm starting to feel like i'm rotting at home..Why is that? Gahh! Anyway..
Okay, Let's just take a look at some pictures now shall we..

Now..I don't think that was easy

and in he dives...

and she's getting there..

"We're in this together. Let's go man!"

"Wohonono..You don't go snatching my ball!"

and..Slam Dunk!

All set and ready to go..No, fight!

...and fight!

Watch out!!

"I'm coming for the ball.."

@@?! That's no ordinary catfight..

"I will hunt you down!"(LOL, W.H do u hear that?)

*struggles* "I got it, I got it!!"

Hit!

and..Hit...

and...RUN!!!

faster..

Faster!

and...

*melody*VICTORIA, VICTORIA!

Ohh Sweet Victory..

Now don't we all wonder how these people manage to keep on doing what they do best and achieve so much?
Situation 1: "Ohh..perhaps they were born-to-be athletes.."
Situation 2: "Hm..tongkat Ali cafe?"
Situation 3: "They're not normal..perhaps they came from outer space!"

So which one do you think is most applicable?

Well i would say NONE! Yes..each and everyone of us are born different and possess different talents, but being good in what you do is a different thing altogether. The question is How did they become so good? Tongkat Ali Cafe??! Yes..it might be some sort of a stimulant..but NO..! It's not a contributing factor, otherwise all or rather most of us would by now be participating in the Beijing Olympics. INVALID answer! and What? You're saying these people are some kind of alien or something? Hm..let's see, they have a pair of eyes, a nose, a mouth, hands, legs etc. like most of us do..They are Homosapiens too..see the similarities?? *EGGK* Wrong answer.

I guess the secret to all of that can be summarize into this particular formula:
PET
No..not pet as in dog pet..but
P-atience
E-ffort

T-eamwork

Assuming that most of us know what these 3 phrases mean, I hereby won't go too deep into explaining one by one. If, well if, you do need a definition on that, just go to www.dictionary.com and type in the word, then click search =D You'll find what you want.

Indeed these 3 tools play a very important role in our lives today. It is said that patience may denote calm, self-possessed, and unrepining bearing of pain, misfortune, annoyance, or delay. Therefore, without patience, these people would have given up a long time ago..just imagine the pain & exhaustion they have to go through upon preparation for this BIG event! Now Effort, well defined as exertion of physical or mental power. Most of us would have a pre-concept of Effort as something physical, nevertheless, if one is not prepared mentally, how would he/she be capable of facing such pressure and challenges? acknowledging the fact that Your whole country is counting upon you. Hence, to acheive greater heights, Effort is essential.

Teamwork. Cooperative effort by the members of a group or team to acheive a common goal.
These people, they have a common mindset, hence working towards a common goal. Their ultimate goal is not just about doing their best, but acheiving what they want by doing their best, cooperatively. Indeed two is better than one, for when one falls, the other one is there to pick him/her up and lend a helping hand. Therefore, teamwork is what makes a team whole, for the support each team member contributes is like the branches of a tree.

and at the end of the day..there lies a main root towards these 3 essential tools, which is also summarized in another PET formula which is
P-erseverance
E-ndurance

T-rust

Life is like a race. We, human-beings, are but runners of this race. We are to run to achieve our ultimate goal at the end of the day. Our goals may vary, depending on each and every individual's belief and perception. However, in the process of running to achieve the ultimate goal, it requires these 3 things, perseverance, endurance and trust. Perseverance, in spite of difficulties, obstacles and discouragement, is what ensures us to obtain what we want at the end of the day, for we all have a purpose. Endurance, is what keeps us going, to keep on keeping on, giving us the strength to overcome whatever hardship and trials that come our way. Trust, not just referring to trusting in one's self, but(from a Christian's perspective), to put our trust in God. Without trust, there wouldn't be hope, and eventually, the word Confidence wouldn't exist.

So, i guess that's all for today. Phew..*wipes sweat*. This is by far the longest post I've done. It wouldn't have happened if not for the two-week break i'm having. (for i feel like a mushroom now, growing slowly) a.k.a rotting.(does that relate?) Gahh, nvm! =P. Perhaps it can be called an official 'blog', for now :)

Slow Dance

Have you ever watched kids on a merry-go-round
Or listened to the rain slapping on the ground?

Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight
Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?

You better slow down
Don't dance so fast
Time is short
The music won't last

Do you run through each day on a fly
When you ask "How are you?" do you hear the reply
When the day is done, do you lie in your bed
With the next hundred chores running through your head?

You'd better slow down
Don't dance so fast
Time is short
The music won't last

Ever told your child, We'll do it tomorrow
And in your haste, not see his sorrow?

Ever lost touch, Let a good friendship die
'Cause you never had time to call and say "Hi"?

You'd better slow down
Don't dance so fast
Time is short
The music won't last

When you run so fast to get somewhere
You miss half the fun of getting there.
When you worry and hurry through your day,
It is like an unopened gift,
Thrown away...

Life is not a race.
Do take it slower
Hear the music
Before the song is over.

A Post on Life

Life is a gift we're given each day,
Dream about tomorrow, but live for today.
To live a little, you've got a whole lot to learn..
And to learn, you got to start living.

Life is a journey worth taking,
For even to appreciate the simplest beauty of mother nature,
Brings you one step closer,
towards the journey of a thousand miles.

When you count all of life's blessings,
As though a child counts the stars,
You will then realize,
That it's the little moments,
that make life big.
