IF?

I do not wish to wake up one day knowing it'd be my last,
when many things I could have done,
and things I could have achieved,
IF ONLY I cared to make the effort,
would have already been achieved.

By then, nothing would be of importance anymore,
not even the slightest treasure laid up upon this earth,
but what remains are thoughts of how one has lived his life.

There is no turning back in time.

IF?
Would it even be of any significance then?

I cannot live to see such a day come.
